WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Taking On A World Of Words. WWW Wednesday is a quick look and current update in the life of a reader, by answering three simple questions.
The three W’s are:
- What are you currently reading?
- What did you finish reading recently?
- What do you think you will read next?
The weather has been ridiculous over here, alternating between incredibly sunny and random bouts of snow, so it has been a real mixed bag. The cooler days and nights mean blankets, hot drinks and books. And the sunny days are a short-lived taster of the summer that is on it’s way. I can’t wait to be able to get out hiking again, as well as backyard camping with my little girl.
And now onto the reading…
What are you currently reading?
Hetty Feather by Jacqueline Wilson. I loved Jacqueline Wilson books when I was growing up, and I have finally decided to dive into this one with my daughter. This is one of the few Jacqueline Wilson books I hadn’t previously read, so it has been nice discovering something new while at the same time feeling familiar. This is The Story Of Tracy Beaker only during the Victorian era, and we average a couple of chapters a night, and so far it is quite good.
How To Write Funny Characters by Scott Dikkers. I’ve been reading this to inspire myself to write a little bit more. This one is a little drier than some of the other writing books I’ve read recently, so it isn’t the easiest thing to read, but it does seem to have a few good ideas that I hope to incorporate.
What did you finish reading recently?
The Scarlet Dress by Louise Douglas. I had read The House By The Sea by the same author earlier in the year, so I was excited to start this one. It was okay, I liked the murder mystery part of it. I found the male protagonist to be a tad unlikable, which made it a little hard to read at times, but the book on a whole wasn’t bad. I know that I will continue to look out for other books by Louise Douglas.
What do you think you will read next?
Sapphire Battersea by Jacqueline Wilson. This is the sequel to Hetty Feather, and my daughter and I will be starting this one as our next nightly read.
Other than that, I’m not sure what I’ll pick up next. There are quite a few titles on my TBR, and I have several books downloaded onto my kindle, as well as a few paperbacks I’ve been dying to get to. I’m just going to see what I’m in the mood for when I pick up the next one.
What are you reading at the moment? How is the weather treating you? Is it alternating between summer and winter where you are? Do you get a spring or do you leap from winter to summer like we do? Let me know in the comments!
