WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Taking On A World Of Words. WWW Wednesday is a quick look and current update in the life of a reader, by answering three simple questions.
The three W’s are:
- What are you currently reading?
- What did you finish reading recently?
- What do you think you will read next?
What are you currently reading?
I started reading Scary Stories For Young Foxes with Lottie last weekend, and we are still working our way through it. Doing online school at home has proven to be quite stressful for her this last couple of weeks so we haven’t managed to do as much reading together as we usually do. Instead we opted for a movie day this weekend rather than a couple of chapters from a book. Thankfully she is back at school in person today so we should be able to get ourselves back to more of a normal. I also started reading Other Words For Home which I have had on my list/kindle for a few weeks now. I was going to read it to Lottie but it hasn’t really worked out.
I’m still working my way through The Operator. It’s a slow read and not quite as interesting as I had initially hoped for, but I only have a few chapters to go now so I’m going to see how it all ends.
The Accidental Beauty Queen is a new book I picked up for this week. I thought it would be a bit funnier than it is, but it is still mildly amusing. I was just kind of hoping for something with a bit more laughter.
What did you finish reading recently?
Doing school at home has really eaten into my reading time, so I haven’t managed to do all that much. The two books I finished have been completely different from each other, but both exactly what I needed at that moment. I picked up Confessions Of A Virgin Sex Columnist because I wanted something light and fluffy. It is very funny and a bit different from a regular rom-com, though with quite a few similar elements. Allie And Bea is a bit heavier, though it is ultimately a feel-good novel. One of the protagonists, Bea, took a bit to learn to like, but I got there eventually. It is a sweet, happy book, and probably the perfect thing to take to the beach or something.
What do you think you will read next?
I have signed myself up for two readathons for the month of June, so this week I’m reading through some of the books that are currently on my kindle. What Now? is the sequel to What If? which I really enjoyed, so I’m excited to get stuck into this one. I’ve recently fallen in love with wartime historical fiction, and The Resistance Girl is exactly that.
Have you read any of these books? Let me know your thoughts!
