WWW Wednesday: 15 September 2021

WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Taking On A World Of Words. WWW Wednesday is a quick look and current update in the life of a reader, by answering three simple questions.

The three W’s are:

  • What are you currently reading?
  • What did you finish reading recently?
  • What do you think you will read next?

Every time I’ve sat down to read lately, I’ve either gotten distracted or can’t quite make up my mind what I want to read. I’ve started and paused so many books this week in my quest to find something that will actually hit the spot. I don’t know if I’m just heading towards a reading slump or what is up with me, but hopefully it doesn’t last long.

Autumn is coming in fast. Autumn and winter are my favourite times to read. I’m not a huge fan of the cold, so I like to say I hiberate for the winter. I just tend to stick more to the indoors when it gets colder and the snow and -20 weather hits. That means lots of curling up with a blanket, some hot chocolate, a scented candle and a book. What is your favourite season? What is your best season for reading?

What are you currently reading?

It hasn’t changed from last week. I’m still working through these two books. When I pick up The German Midwife, I do seem to fly through it, but I’m not always so motivated to read it. Stranded, I’m still only a few chapters in.

What did you finish reading recently?

The only book I finished so far this week is The Room In The Attic by Louise Douglas. It is an ARC I got approved for on netgalley, and I was so excited to see it, as my first five star read of 2021 was The House By The Sea by Louise Douglas. I read this book in a day, and it is spooky and chilling and clever, and weird.

What do you think you will read next?

I just got approved for another Netgalley ARC, so I’m planning to get it read this week. The Girl Across The Wire Fence is about a concentration camp in Holland, and follows the people that helped to smuggle letters in and out of the camp for the prisoners.

Have you read anything good this week? Let me know!
