Forever gave Fern everything. A body that will never age. Psychic abilities, if she can work out how to access them. A purpose: Fern will be part of a new dawn for humanity, although she’s never been told exactly how.

Then Fern is contacted by a cryptic telepath from outside the Institute, and learns some dark truths that make her question everything she’s been taught. Children are being murdered, and Fern is in danger. But her new friend has secrets of his own…

SOME LIES ARE LETHAL.

I don’t usually read a lot of Sci-Fi, as book genres go it isn’t my favourite, but the synopsis of A Girl From Forever sounded so interesting that I knew I had to give it a try. It is a dystopian fiction, which I do quite like sometimes. I was pleasantly surprised.

This book had a great, fast paced storyline, and there were so many twists and turns, I couldn’t tell where it was going or what was going to happen next.

The way the characters were written, it was hard to tell exactly who the “good” people and the “bad” people were, so it made it hard to decide who the enemy was, and which truths and lies were the ones to believe. I loved that.

I loved Fern. She was created in a lab, for some kind of purpose that she had never actually been told. I really enjoyed seeing the world through her eyes, and liked the sense of wonder that she had as she experienced things for the first time. Fern made for a believable protagonist in the way that she maintained an element of suspicion as her world and everything she had ever known unraveled as new information presented itself.

There was a lot of suspense in this book which made it very hard to put down.
